Relations with Banks
Musioł & Partners Law Firm has extensive experience in advising companies and individual clients in their relations with banks.
Our team specializes in resolving difficult and often precedent-setting disputes with banks and other financial institutions. We review and negotiate credit agreements and arrangements concerning the security of bank receivables.
One of the most interesting disputes with a bank handled by our firm was the successful lawsuit for multimillion-dollar damages before a Polish court against one of the largest international financial institutions - a custodian bank based in New York. The case ended with a settlement favorable to our client.
In another court case, we successfully sued the Polish branch of a European bank to declare the securities obtained by this bank on the assets of Polish companies invalid.
In yet another high-profile case, we managed to invalidate the transaction of purchasing bonds of a Polish joint-stock company from an international bank, sold to our client shortly before the company's bankruptcy was announced. Our client recovered 100% of the lost funds, and the case contributed to raising the standards of financial services in Poland.
